Your service history
In October 2003 European legislation was passed effecting the motor trade in relation to servicing and maintaining your service history. The full title is Block Exemption Regulation 1400/2002 (BER for short).
Before BER you were forced to service your car through the manufacturer’s dealership if you wanted to maintain your cars service history.
The legislation changes now mean that the motorist has more freedom than before to choose who is allowed to maintain their vehicles service history.
